I started teaching Elementary Art at AASD in 1991. I have been teaching art at Penn-Lincoln at various times over the years, from 1991-1996, 2001-2007, and 2013 to the present. I remember the days before renovations when we could drive through from the front to back of the school on the first floor. That area was closed in to create many more classrooms. I travel to various elementary schools within the district to teach art to students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. At some point over the years, I have taught at all the AASD elementary schools. I currently teach at Penn Lincoln, Juniata, Juniata Gap, and the McAuliffe Heights program at Irving. I see the students for art class for 30 minutes every 10 school days.
I am a 1985 graduate of the Hollidaysburg Area School District. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education K-12 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1989, and a Master's of Education degree from Saint Francis University in 1995. I also currently hold the elected position of Treasurer for the Altoona Area Education Association since 2012.
